WW Treenware Company is a shopper’s delight

home in a 1901 building and has a fascinating collection of
“one-of-a-kind” gifts such as gorgeous hand crafted spoons,
forks, salad sets and more made by noted treenmaker, Nancy Lou Webster.
Treen is the art of creating
wooden utensils. This craft
dates back more than four
centuries.
Nancy Lou’s signature treen creations
are the traditional Welsh love spoons
coveted by avid collectors worldwide.
Come and touch these extraordinary
pieces and feel the craftsmanship in
these remarkable creations.
The Love spoon dates back to the
seventeenth century. The most
important love tokens in the British
Isles were the Welsh love spoons.
Carving a love spoon for your girl was a
common practice in many countries in Europe.
These lovingly carved spoons by a country
boy for his sweetheart later became a Victorian
term “spooning” which meant courting.
I carve the love spoons because I like the story!
